Q: What happened to the “Masquerade” theme?
A: After many concerns and comments from the community, we have heard that the theme of Masquerade was confusing for people. In order to make this less confusing, the Gala planning committee decided to revise the theme to “Spring Gala and Auction” to indicate the season and type of event this will be for GISSV.
Q: If I buy a ticket to attend the Gala, do I have to buy something in the auction?
A: The goal of the event is two-fold: 1, we want to build community between GISSV San Francisco and Mountain View campuses and 2, we will raise funds to support both campuses in the auction. By attending the Gala, you are not required to participate in the auction. We will have many packages in the silent and live auctions, as well as raffle prizes, so there are multiple ways we can raise funds during the event. You are welcome to contribute in any way that suits you in a meaningful way. At the end of the night, we want this to be a fun and enjoyable event for all, whether you bid on the auction items or not!

Q: What are the transportation options for the event?
A: We are currently working through the options available to us for transportation from both the San Francisco and Mountain View campuses. If you are interested in utilizing the transportation option, please indicate this in the designated area of the ticket sale site.
Q: What are the childcare options for the event?
A: We are currently working through the options available to us for childcare for both the San Francisco and Mountain View campuses. If you are interested in utilizing the childcare option, please indicate this in the designated area of the ticket sale site.
Q: What does the ticket price give me?
A: The cost of the ticket includes entrance to the venue, reception, dinner, dessert, and bar costs. You don't need to bring extra money to enjoy food and drink. It's all covered in the cost of the ticket. However, if you do want to bid on auction items, you'll need a credit card!
Q: If I buy single tickets vs. a table of 10, will I not have a seat?
A: Every ticket purchase ensures a seat for each guest. Your table assignment will be given to you when you check-in at the event. If you want to ensure that you have your friends sitting with you, the easiest way to do this is to buy a table of 10 and fill it with your favorite people.
